Mussoorie, India — The Savoy
A multi-day celebration set high in the mountains of Mussoorie, where shifting weather, soft sun, and quiet unpredictability framed a wedding that felt more like a private love story unfolding than a production.
The couple, travelling from the United States, brought a sense of calm clarity to the entire celebration. She works in pharmaceuticals, he is a scientist, both grounded, considered, and quietly joyful in the way they moved through each part of the week.
There is a particular stillness to weddings in the mountains. At The Savoy, that stillness became part of the narrative. Each day, the venue revealed itself slightly differently, light shifting across colonial architecture, mist breaking, then clearing again without warning.
It never felt staged. It felt lived in.

The week began in the greenhouse.
Filled with layered greenery and dense, tropical planting, the space felt like an extension of the mountains rather than a structure within them. Light filtered through glass and foliage, softening everything it touched. The mehndi unfolded slowly here, hands being painted, conversations drifting through plants, colour building quietly within the greenery.
Haldi followed with warmth and openness.
Perfect weather, soft sun, and an ease in the way everything unfolded. The energy was vibrant but unforced, laughter moving through the space, colour in motion, skin and light working together naturally.
Shot on film, the haldi became one of the most defined visual moments of the wedding. The tones felt honest to the environment, sunlight, texture, and atmosphere rendered with a softness that belongs to the medium.
The wedding day carried a different kind of stillness.
After several days at the venue, everything felt familiar, yet the moment the bride began her entrance, it shifted again. A long, uninterrupted walk from the hotel towards the mandap, slow and intentional, moving through open space and mountain air.
The reception carried the same language as the rest of the week, elegant, grounded, and quietly celebratory. Conversations layered over music, light softened into evening, and the energy of the day settled into something reflective.
What remains is not a sequence of events, but a feeling.
